New Paradigm for Balconies, Dyness BESS Junior Box Honored with the iF Design Award 2024
Recently, the iF International Design Award was concluded in Germany. Junior Box, a balcony energy storage product launched by Dyness in 2023, has been honored with the prestigious 2024 iF Design Award, one of the world's most renowned design competitions.
Headquartered in Hanover, Germany, iF Design is the oldest independent design organization in Germany and hosts the annual iF Design Award. This year, the competition was exceptionally fierce, with nearly 11,000 entries from 72 countries and regions worldwide vying for the coveted award, which represents excellent design quality. After a thorough evaluation by the international panel of independent experts, Junior Box received the favour of 132 judges and secured the award. This recognition not only affirms the functionality and aesthetic appreciation of Junior Box, but also represents international recognition in the field of product and aesthetic design by Dyness.
In 2023, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Operations (BMWK) released the draft Solarpaket I, which includes simplifying the procedures related to balcony photovoltaics. According to the draft, balcony photovoltaics with a capacity below 800W (previously 600W) no longer require registration with the grid operator. Leveraging years of product development and manufacturing experience, Dyness promptly embarked on the development of Junior Box, seizing the opportunity with foresight.
Junior Box, the balcony energy storage product, utilizes high-safety mainstream lithium-iron phosphate batteries with an independent capacity of 1.6 kWh. If consumers have expansion needs, the product can accommodate up to three additional battery packs, reaching a maximum capacity of 6.4 kWh. Under this capacity, it can effectively meet the daily power needs of most households.
To achieve the efficient integration of functionality and aesthetics, Junior Box incorporates two DC/DC modules with bi-level lifting characteristics. With its analogue photovoltaic curve function, it can adapt to the majority of micro-inverters available on the market. Meanwhile, the built-in MPPT module ensures maximum power tracking for the connected photovoltaic panels, further enhancing the energy conversion efficiency of Junior Box. Additionally, the Battery Management System (BMS) is also integrated into Junior Box, providing efficient heat dissipation and ensuring the overall efficiency and lifespan of the product. It is worth mentioning that both the built-in MPPT and BMS modules in Junior Box are detachable, reducing maintenance costs since the initial design phase.
Junior Box's integrated design features compact equipment with large capacity. The independent separation of the BMS module and battery module ensures high safety during actual usage. The detachable MPPT module provides users with convenient choices and application scenarios. Undoubtedly, with the certification of the iF International Design Award, the aesthetics of Junior Box are beyond doubt. Carefully designed in a way that blends with the environment, such as balconies, it truly creates a warm and harmonious "scenery" on the balcony.
Winning the iF International Design Award is a strong testament to Dyness' product functionality and aesthetic design. With high standards in product research and development, as well as management systems, coupled with top-level product design, Dyness has gained confidence in the global market for nearly 7 years, reaching over 100 countries and regions. With recognition from over 300,000 users worldwide, Dyness will continue to strive for diversified and high-standard product matrices, bringing more value to global users and contributing to sustainable development worldwide.
