Solis Welcomes Shift To C&I PV Projects In Italy and Beyond With Enhanced Storage Inverters
22 March, 2023, Rimini, Italy:Ginlong (Solis) Technologies, one of the most experienced and largest inverter producers in the world, is showcasing two enhanced inverter ranges at the K.EY energy transition expo in Rimini from 22-24 March. Flagship products on display include the company's 6th generation energy storage inverters (“S6”), in single and three phase configurations, as well as its 100K-5G-PRO series (“PRO”) – for higher powered commercial and industrial applications.
Key enhancements to the company's S6 storage inverters include a larger charge and discharge current of 125A for a global equivalent power range; a ‘1+N’ full energy storage capability; single or three phase functionality; and millisecond switchover times during supply interruptions.
Giovanni Buogo, Solis Sales Director Western Europe, says: "Solis has launched a new 6th generation range of energy storage inverters, especially configured for Europe. Our unique '1+N’ concept allows the integration of modules and functionalities that facilitate smart matching between user demand and scenarios, while also enabling ‘super terminal’ capability. Installation time has also been reduced by 20% due to easy and quick operation and convenient application.”
The Solis 100K-5G-PRO inverter includes component and manufacturing upgrades that enable full compatibility with today’s high power 182mm and 210mm PV modules; allowing greater capacity and a lower Levelised Cost of Energy – all from a smaller footprint. This comprehensive re-engineering of the PRO series has also helped overcome escalating supply-chain bottlenecks for a number of hard-to-source components.
Giovanni adds: “The Solis 100K-5G-PRO is a new generation of storage-ready inverter designed to accommodate the growing adoption of higher powered 182mm and 210mm PV panels in the commercial and industrial market. The 5G PRO has an increased power rating, of more than 600W, greater current capacity, up to 18A per string, and Maximum Power Point Tracking of eight; each with access to two groups of strings.”
Giovanni concludes: “The advanced storage capabilities of our 5G-PRO and S6 series inverters are extremely timely for the Italian and wider European markets, where we are seeing a fundamental shift in project scale this year. While extension of Italy's ‘superbonus’ tax break fueled high demand for residential PV and storage installations in 2022, its recent withdrawal means that 2023 is likely to be more focused on C&I installations. There is also a growing interest in not just the traditional standalone PV setup, but a combination of PV and storage, which has become increasingly desirable as grids and governments incentivise demand response measures. This combination is a relatively novel concept, especially in Italy, and could signal the start of a ‘new normal’ involving both PV and storage.
