2022 climate actions of LONGi - LONGi
On the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27), LONGi releases the 2022 Climate Action White Paper, the second climate white paper since 2021.
The report shows that in the past year,LONGi established an internal GHG emission accounting system covering the full value chain of the company (scope 1, 2 and 3). LONGi also actively implemented RE100 with 3.096 billion kWh of renewable electricity consumption in 2021, accounting for 40.19% in our total electricity consumption, equivalent to avoiding 1.68 million tonnes of CO2e. In addition, LONGi continued to promote energy saving and consumption reduction, achieving more than 160,000 tonnes of CO2e emission reductions.
While meeting the rapidly increasing global demand for PV capacity, LONGi has further decreased its carbon intensity, with scope 1&2 emissions per unit of revenue in 2021 reduced by 20.8% compared with 2020, laying the foundation for the gradual decoupling of capacity growth and carbon emissions.
The report, with technical support from the Carbon Trust, a global climate consultancy, demonstrates LONGi's ambition and firm and pragmatic actions in addressing global climate change as a leading company in the photovoltaic industry.
