LONGi, the largest solar module manufacturer worldwide, has received EUPD Research’s “Top Brand PV Seal 2022” in seven of the largest European markets and for Europe as a whole. EUPD granted LONGi the seal in the “Modules” category. The individual markets are specified as Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Poland, and Switzerland.

Conny Richter, Director of Marketing, received the certificate on behalf of Gulnara Abdullina.

EUPD founder and CEO Markus A.W. Hoehner stated: “We are very pleased to present the TOP Brand PV 2022 EUROPE award to LONGi Solar. Not many players manage to receive outstanding evaluations from the key market intermediaries across numerous countries in Europe – especially within a comparatively short period of time.”

Preferred by installers across the continent

Based on strong performance and high installer recommendation levels, the “Top Brand” seal identifies and honours best-in-class brands along the entire solar PV value chain for their contribution towards the development of the sector on both country and regional level. The pan-European qualification is rare, as it requires companies to have achieved 'Top Brand PV' status in at least six countries.

Hoehner continued, “We would like to congratulate LONGi for providing customers with high quality services and products, while striving to build a greener world with an industry-leading technology, management, and customer value standards.”

EUPD Research specializes in the analysis of companies in a range of sectors including photovoltaics, energy storage, heat pumps, and e-mobility. For the PV industry, the organisation conducts independent annual surveys of solar installers on their experiences with a wide range of products.

Growth in module shipments points to supplier and customer satisfaction

“LONGi’s growth in Europe reflects strong customer relationships and satisfaction,” explained LONGi VP Europe Gulnara Abdullina. “It’s a real honor to receive the EUPD Top Brand PV Seal. We’re particularly proud of the affirmation it signifies from installers and other professionals in the sector, of LONGi quality and reliability.”

The company’s expansion is now additionally being driven by the "RE-Power EU" plan, which the European Commission launched aiming to increase the EU’s share of renewable energy to 45% by 2030 and double the installed solar capacity to 600GW by 2030. In the first half of 2022, LONGi shipped just over 20GW of monocrystalline silicon wafers internationally, as well as 17.70GW of monocrystalline modules, with Europe as one of the leading buyer markets.

“In the past three years, LONGi’s overseas revenue grew to nearly half our total revenue, making Europe increasingly important,” Abdullina added. “As we strengthen our position as the biggest module manufacturer globally, we’re also redoubling our commitment to deliver the best and most cost-effective solar technology on the market.”

Research breakthroughs reinforce confidence in LONGi quality

A new world record conversion efficiency by LONGi’s researchers is expected to further solidify trust in the company’s technology and increase sales, as the greater efficiency cells make their way through the manufacturing process and become widely available in new modules. The record achieved an efficiency of 26.12% for its p-type silicon heterojunction (HJT) cells and was validated in testing by the German Institute for Solar Energy Research (ISFH) in Hamelin.
